RECOMB-Seq Conference Proceedings

RECOMB-seq was founded in 2011 as a response to the expanding applications of high-throughput sequencing as a tool of basic science and biomedicine. The conference gathered leading researchers in computational genomics and genomic biology to discuss emerging frontiers in algorithm development for sequencing data. The emphasis is on applying computational approaches to improve analysis, interpretation and data management. Since then, the scope of RECOMB-seq has expanded beyond sequencing data to include assembled data as well, all the while focusing on methodological developments. To reflect this, the conference name was changed in 2022 from “RECOMB Satellite Workshop on Massively Parallel Sequencing” to “RECOMB Satellite Conference on Biological Sequence Analysis”.

The RECOMB-Seq Publication Lifecycle

This page serves as the official central directory for all RECOMB-Seq publications. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive listing that connects a paper’s initial preprint, its official proceedings version, and its final journal publication all in one place.

Our Review Process

Every paper submitted to RECOMB-Seq undergoes a rigorous peer-review process, with each submission being evaluated by at least three reviewers. The best selection of papers are accepted and invited for an oral presentation at the conference. All accepted papers are required to be available on a public preprint server (bioRxiv, arXiv, etc.).

From Proceedings to Journal Publication

Authors of accepted papers have two avenues for publication, which they select at the time of submission:

  • Journal Parternship: RECOMB-Seq maintains partnerships with leading journals. Accepted papers are eligible for publication in one of our partners after an additional editorial screening process. RECOMB-Seq had different journal partners over the years, including BMC Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics, iScience, and Journal of Computational Biology.
  • Overlay Track: The authors submit their manuscript to any journal of their choice and undergo a review process there.
